How Does a Person Support Our Efforts?
There are many ways in which to become involved with the Central Ohio Center for Economic Education:
Donations: "If you believe in something, you support it. If you support something, the time comes when good wishes and cordial words are not enough and your hand reaches for your pocketbook. Then the fun begins. For giving is fun. If you refuse to give, your support is wavering; and if your support is wavering, it can't be that you believe in that something in any strong way. Maybe our account books, after all, offer the honest list of those things in which we really believe." - Kenneth Irving Brown
The COCEE is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, largely supported through public and private grants and the contributions of Ohio Citizens. We welcome any and all donations. Making a contribution is easy:
- NEW FEATURE!! Click here to make an online donation via credit card! Secure Site.
- Simply mail us a check, payable to "COCEE" and we will provide you a receipt for your tax files. All contributions to the Center are tax-deductible.
- OSU Contributors - donate through the University, by designating all or a portion of your donation to our program. (We can also accept contributions of stocks through OSU.)
- If you would like to consider a more enduring gift, we would like to establish an endowment to support the Center’s work.
- We also accept in-kind donations - please see our Wish List at the bottom of this page.
Board of Trustees: We are always seeking representatives of the community to serve as active members of our Board. If you wish to volunteer your time and talents in this manner, please contact Abbejean Kehler at 614-292-1178.
Technical Assistance: On those occasions when one of our computers is having difficulties, we must engage in a time-consuming search for qualified—and generally costly—help. If you work with computers, and would like to volunteer your services as an on-call expert, please contact Abbejean Kehler at 614-292-1178.
Sponsorships: We will be making revisions to our awards process this fall, but presently award cash prizes to students totaling $850 per year. If you or your organization would care to sponsor the cash prizes for one or both sessions, or actual prize items (such as team t-shirts), we would be pleased to hear from you. You may also wish to sponsor the registration fee for an SMG team at your local school. For more information on the Stock Market Game, please go to our links page and visit the SMG website. To sponsor prizes or a team, please contact Abbejean Kehler at 614-292-1178, and please check back with us this fall to see what new prizes and awards are in store!
ETC Kits: Teachers need more than just paper and pencils to fully engage their students in financial literacy. We have developed the Economics Toolkit for the Classroom to assist them in their endeavors. Perhaps you or your organization would like to sponsor the donation of one or both of the ETC Kits (Primary for grdaes K-2 and Intermediate for Grades 3-5) to a local school? For more information or to purchase a Kit, please contact Abbejean Kehler at 614-292-1178.
